USD Women's Rowing Announces 2025 Schedule

SAN DIEGO – The University of San Diego women's rowing team has unveiled its Spring 2025 schedule, featuring a competitive slate of races against some of the nation's top programs. The Toreros will kick off the season on February 23 in Chula Vista, California, against Kansas, followed by a crosstown matchup with UC San Diego on March 1.

One of the season's premier events, the San Diego Crew Classic, will take place on March 29-30, bringing top collegiate crews to Mission Bay. The Toreros will then hit the road to face UCLA in Marina del Rey on April 6, before heading to Manhattan, Kansas, for the Big XII Double Dual on April 11-12. Additional competitions include the Triton Invite in Chula Vista (April 25-27), the Oregon State Invite in Lowell, Oregon (May 3), and the West Coast Conference Championships in Gold River, California (May 16-17).

Coaching Transition
Associate Head Coach Mark Lewis has been named interim head coach following Dave Cormier's departure and will lead the program through the remainder of the season. A former international rower, Lewis joined USD in 2022 and was promoted to associate head coach in July 2024.

Strong Fall Performances Set the Stage for Spring
The Toreros enter the spring season following a standout fall campaign, which saw top finishes at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston. The Club Four crew earned fourth place out of 50 boats, while the Club Eight finished sixth out of 42 teams, marking one of USD's best performances at the event.

Continuing their momentum, USD delivered an impressive showing at the Head of the American Regatta, highlighted by the First Varsity 4+ crew winning their race with a time of 19:51.9 in Northern California.

With a mix of experienced returners, a new coaching leader, and a challenging spring schedule, San Diego Women's Rowing is poised for another strong campaign in 2025.
