Jan. 24, 2004

Box Score

Left fielder Josh Hansen hit a two-out grand slam homerun in the third inning, extending a San Diego lead and allowing USD to enjoy a 10-0 win over Cal Poly SLO Saturday before 623 in Baggett Stadium. Hansen finished with three hits and five RBI as San Diego out hit the Mustangs 13-3. The victory evened San Diego's record to 1-1, one day removed from being held scoreless on three hits in their season opener.

Cal Poly?s three hits were singles by catcher Cory Taillon, center fielder Sam Herbert and left fielder Nick Tudisco.

Senior Aaron Wilson (1-0) was credited with the win after throwing six scoreless innings. Freshman Nate Boman picked up the save, working the rest of the way, allowing just one hit and striking out four.
