LONG BEACH, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's swimming and diving team wrapped up their third day at the MPSF Championships with USD holding in fourth place with 285 points. Sarah Geerdes took a team high second place on the day in the 200 freestyle for USD.
UC Davis remains in first place with 494 points, UC Santa Barbara has 437 points in second place, and Cal Poly is in third place with 366 points.
The day started with the 400 individual medley and Melissa Andruzzi taking fifth place overall with a mark of 4:24.56 for 14 points. Eleanor Phillips took seventh place for 12 points with a time of 4:25.46. Emily Lightcap just missed out on points for USD finishing in 4:37.28.
The day continued with the 100 butterfly with Kelly Stone taking fourth place in 55:77 for 15 points. Jessica Rodriguez finished in 58.57 taking 22nd place.
Next was 200 freestyle with Sarah Geerdes taking second place overall with a time of 1:48.77 for 17 points. Geerdes' mark qualified for the NCAA B-Cut. Teammate Francesca Finucane took fifth place with 1:50.07 for 14 points while Milica Ostojic took 15th place for two points.
In the 100 breaststroke, Haley Pittman just missed the mark for 19th place overall with 1:05.83. In the 100 backstroke, Kristyn Deckard took fifth overall with a mark of 56.58 who scored 14 points.
Wrapping up the day was the 200 freestyle relay event as the USD `A' squad took fourth place overall with a mark of 1:33.15. The team of Geerdes, Finucane, Andruzzi, and Kimmel scored 30 points for the team.
USD wraps up their final day at the MPSF championships on Saturday at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Complex in Long Beach, California.
