Complete Beach Cup Results 
SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The University of San Diego swimming and diving team captured a victory at the USD Beach Cup on Saturday afternoon from the USD Sports Center Pool by collecting a meet-best 342 total points. The Toreros maintained a hefty edge over second-place finisher Fresno State (285 pts.), who was trailed by Loyola Marymount (226) and Pepperdine (66). USD won 10 of the final 14 events on day two, giving them first-place finishes in a total of 14 out of 20 events during the two-day meet.
Altogether, USD won all five of the relays in the meet. Francesca Finucane led the team with three individual wins over the two days in addition to being part of four of the five relay wins. Melissa Andruzzi and Keenan Lineback each won two individual events in the meet as well, while Andruzzi was a part of two relay wins.
The Toreros started things off on Saturday right where they left off on day one- with a relay victory. This time it was the A relay (F. Finucane, M. Andruzzi, K. Stone, J. Kimmel) taking home the top spot in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:37.06.
The first individual event of the day had Lineback earn a win in the 400 IM, as she finished with a time of 4:26.98, narrowly missing out on improving on her season-best time of 4:26.96.
Jacquie Kimmel and Kelly Stone finished back-to-back in the 100 fly with times of 58.76 and 58.82, respectively. Both Erica Burmood and Kelly McCarthy posted personal season-best times in that event as well. Burmood clocked a 1:02.44, while McCarthy came in at 1:02.57.
USD swept the top three spots in the next event, the 200 free, as Finucane, Sarah Geerdes, and Taylor Noonan finished in that order. Finucane had a time of 1:52.52, Geerdes came in at 1:54.45, and Noonan finished at 1:55.55.
Sandrine Urias was USD's only participant in the 100 breast, finishing in sixth place with a time of 1:13.60.
The 100 back saw Kristyn Deckard take fourth place with a time of 1:00.90 as the Toreros' top finisher in that event.
USD then continued their relay dominance by winning the 400 medley relay with their A relay (K. Deckard, S. Geerdes, K. Stone, F. Finucane) posting a time of 4:00.05. The Toreros' B relay (T. Noonan, M. Andruzzi, E. Phillips, J. Kimmel) came in third with a time of 4:01.45.
In the final diving event of the meet, the 1-meter, USD's Heather Hippensteel took third with a final score of 212.35.
Session three kicked off with the meet's longest event, the 1650 free, which was won by Lineback with a time of 17:12.01, over 40 seconds faster than second place-finisher Courtney Sheehan of Fresno State.
Noonan captured fifth place in the 200 back with a time of 2:10.01, while Eleanor Phillips came in eighth with a time of 2:12.72.
Finucane won her second individual event of the day when she finished first in the 100 free, clocking a time of 52.61. She was trailed by Geerdes at 53.02. Kimmel gave the Toreros three of the top five finishers in that event as she took fifth with a time of 53.64.
In the 200 breast, Andruzzi took first and set a season team-best time in that event in the process with a 2:21.65.
Phillips and Lineback finished one and two, respectively, in the ensuing event, the 200 fly. Phillips claimed the top spot with a time of 2:05.89, while Lineback followed right behind with a 2:05.97, which established a new personal-best time for her in that event this season.
The Toreros closed out the day with a win in the 400 free relay that saw their A relay (F. Finucane, J. Kimmel, T. Noonan, S. Geerdes) post a time of 3:32.34.
The Toreros return to action on Jan. 28th when they travel to San Diego State for a dual meet at 12:00pm.
