SAN DIEGO—Senior Ripken Reyes was one of seven Toreros to receive All-WCC honors, earning first team recognition, as announced Tuesday by the conference.
 
Jeff Houghtby was named second team All-WCC, while Adam Kerner, Shane McGuire, Chris McCready and Chris Murphy all received honorable mention. Second baseman Cody Jefferis was named to the All-WCC freshman team for his strong performance in his first season with USD.
 
Reyes had an impressive season for the Toreros, starting 51 games as a graduate transfer after spending three seasons at Cal. The third baseman led the WCC with a .366 batting average and 71 hits, 44 coming in conference play.
 
Reyes boasted a .500 slugging percentage with 11 doubles, three triples and three home runs, driving in 33 runs for USD. He also led the team with a .462 on-base percentage, adding 42 runs including 27 against conference opponents. Reyes ranked first in the nation in hit-by-pitch after being hit 27 times this season.
 
Houghtby started 44 games for USD including all 27 conference contests, primarily at shortstop. He posted the team's second-highest batting average at .341, with 12 doubles, a triple and five home runs. The senior collected 58 hits, driving in a team-high 38 runs and scored 30 more for the Toreros on the year.
 
Cody Jefferis made an immediate impact for the Toreros in his debut season. The second baseman finished the year with a .267 batting average and 51 hits for USD. Jefferis paced the Toreros with 13 doubles including seven in conference play. He finished with 33 RBIs and 32 runs with a .372 slugging percentage and .350 on-base percentage.
 
The all-conference teams and major award winners are voted on solely by the league's 10 head coaches.
