STILLWATER, Okla. – San Diego men's tennis opened the NCAA singles championship with a flourish, as
Oliver Tarvet advanced to the round of 32 on day one of the event at the Greenwood Tennis Center on the campus of Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla.

The eighth-ranked and sixth-seeded Tarvet breezed to a 6-1, 6-4 win over No. 53 Ronnie Hohmann of Michigan State in the opening round, earning a break point at 1-1 before a pair of first set breaks to never look back.

With the victory, Tarvet advanced to face No. 22 Colton Smith (Arizona) on Tuesday at 9 a.m., PT. Tarvet matched up with Smith back on Feb. 2, winning a 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 decision in the Toreros 4-3 win over the then No. 10 Wildcats.

Tarvet will be joined in action by No. 64
Stian Klaassen and
Sacchitt Sharrma on Tuesday, as the duo opens the doubles championship against No. 30 Bozo Barun/Jared Horwood of Arkansas. The duo will take the courts at 3:30 p.m. PT.
