LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Mackenna Briggs, who set a new school record in the 200 free last night, continued her record breaking week by setting another school in Thursday evening's first race, the 500 free. Briggs finished in 4:51.08, good for third place. This broke Ashley Swart's record of 4:52.04, set back in 2005.
In the next race, Bri Jurries earned a third place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.73.
Danielle Taylor swam the 50 free in 23.32 (7th place), a career best time for her and only 0.13 off her sister Jackie's school record.
The Toreros finished the evening with a fifth place finish in the 200 free relay. Taylor, Missy Beall, Jurries and Briggs finished in 1:33.17 to give USD 28 points.
Seniors Danielle Deiparine and Missy Beall also posted career best times. Deiparine finished the 200 IM in 2:05.30 and Bell clocked in at 24.05 in the 50 free.
The Toreros continue the MPSF Championships tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.
